Okay, so the balmy days of summer have gone and it is STILL raining!

But hey! we have got 5 weeks to get ready for Christmas, who said BOO!!!

Still, like it or not it is coming so don't forget to order early.

As we only use fresh fresh fish, you can order with confidence and freeze it up to use as and when you fancy.

Besides the usual suspects of cod haddock lemons etc. we smoke our own salmon and if you have the un-sliced sides, you can slice it yourself for sandwiches or canapes, then again you can dice some and use it in pasta for a change from the heavy dinners we all have at this time.

If you are having more dinner parties at home, why not order up the makings of your fish course, all trimmed and portioned, ready to cook. For a starter why not try our home smoked king prawns, just that bit different on the palate.

So whatever you fancy, let us know in plenty of time, more especially before the 14th December as there will be no FRESH fish after this time because the market closes down. Also bad weather can affect the supply.

A typical day at Newlyn Fish starts at 6am with Peter fast footing it down to the market with their other buyer Phil, ready to select the best supplies each day.  Meanwhile, Joe and Martin are back at the store. taking orders and also sourcing from other local ports in order to make sure that we can supply all our customers. large and small.  It's a hive of activity!

 

Within minutes, the catches are transported from the quayside to a purpose built processing unit where it is expertly prepared and packed, ready to be distributed throughout the UK.  The fish leaves in pristine condition by overnight transport to a wide range of destinations; Private Addresses,  Deli's and Catering establishments and fishmongers, (many of them in London) not forgetting being tightly packed on ice into two local home delivery vans which serve customers door to door around the Cornish coast from the Lands End to the Lizard each week.
